What is a Flash Competition?
A flash comp is a fast-paced, single-elimination, sudden death competition.​
There will be a total of two rounds with a possible 3rd tiebreaker round.
Round 1 (Qualifier): Each climber will be randomly selected to climb the designated male or female route.
Climbers are allowed two attempts.
Round 2 (Finals): Each finalist will be randomly selected to climb a designated male or female final route.
Finalists will be allowed a single, sudden death try to make as much progress or flash the climb.
Each finalist's progress will be scored. Progress is measured by showing positive control of a hold. Touching or 'slapping' a hold will not be considered progress.
